Early life: Born to a fisherponies' family, Salt knew almost everything about fish, she grew as a proffesional fisher, like her dad, I'a 'Ahi (Yellow Fin Tuna Fish).
She was home-schooled for two years by her mom, who was afraid her little filly would be in trouble. But at an age of 9, French Salt decided to go to Canterlot by herself, "to see the world", as she said. Dad was versus this idea, but soon gave in, so our filly left her home on a boat to Equestria.
There she joined the school in Canterlot, where Cookie Dough was learning, and they became friends on the international base (Cookie loved Salt, 'cause she was from another country), and quickly found herself interested in the cuisine of Equestrians, especially "that white crystallized 'sandy' substance" she saw that ponies used to put it into food as flavouring to their food.
Once she brought some fish that her dad gave her to school, and at breakfast, she flavoured her fish, with a mint leaf on top, with "the substance"she took from one of her classmates, and tried it.
Cookie Dough was shocked.
- Does your nation eat fish? - she asked Salt, - That's kind of cruel, you know. Killing off animals like that...
- Sorry, but that's the tradition of my family. We're all fisherponies...
Suddenly she gasped and turned back to look at her flank. She got her cutie mark! But for her this was not happy news.
- What's that??? - she asked, terrified by what she had gotten: she had never ever seen that thing before.
- A salt shaker, silly! - Cookie giggled, - You have never eaten salt before, right?
- Um, I was always wondering, what that white substance for flavouring was... and decided to try it. I don't know, how it's connected to fish!
- It is not. It's connected to your first work with salt, something new in your ration. And how was it?
- You know, I... I like that taste! Never imagined it to be so good!
- Even though it's very simple, - Cookie took a piece of fish from the lunch-box, - Can I have some?
- Yes, but the bell is soon to ring. - French Salt closed the box and was ready to go, when:
- Listen, Salty, - Cookie approached to her, - Would you like to go home with me tonight?
- Um, ok, why?
- You have never had a slumber party, I think. - Cookie winked.
- But we should sleep at night. - Salt objected, as she stared at Cookie's cunning smile.
- Of course, but sometimes, we can have fun before an hour at night. It's neither loud, nor boring. We could cook something together, too.
- Agreed! - Salty felt so hyped about the new page in her life, straight after her cutie mark obtaining.
Currently she works at Equestrian Tastes (though she suggested to name it as World's Tastes) as a waitress and Atlantic cuisine shef.
